these are love locks on the bridge ponte vecchio! It sounds romantic, you place your lock here next to the statue of the best gold smith of all time and then throw the key into the fiume arno and then your love will last forever. But in reality they cut the locks off and if you are caught putting locks on them then you can be fined 190 euros which is about 250 US dollars... :)
