We have arrived in S. Africa!!

Here are a few entries that I made in my journal while on the plane/traveling. We had some internet at the hotel so I thought I would post it all together. Got to FaceTime Dad and tell him that I am alive and well. More to follow I am sure :)

We are on our way to Africa!! It is official! We flew this afternoon from Little Rock to Atlanta and now we are on the plane to Johannesburg or "Jo-Burg" as the locals appear to call it. We just left about 30 minutes ago. Once we arrive we will be staying the night there in Jo-Burg and taking an early flight the next morning to Zambia. This flight across the big blue is going to be pretty long, about 15 hours long! It's crazy to think about all of the things that I can, but lets be honest probably not, accomplish in this time. I have decided to write things for my blog on my iPad and then I will transfer all of my entries to my blog when I have internet. Our seats do have a personal screen where we can watch movies, and first on my list is "Saving Mr. Banks." My reading material for this portion of the trip is "Bossypants" by Tina Fey. It is really hilarious and I have been laughing out loud at times that are probably annoying to those sitting around me. I have brought too many reading materials but I felt that this was necessary. All of you who know me know I am a book worm! So for now, tah-tah! I am sure on this long trip I will be making quite a few entries :)

Well half a book, three movies and countless naps later, we have a little less than two hours left to go! The anticipation is building! I am not for sure what time it will be in S. Africa and it'll probably take some time to get used to. Jet lag is not for the faint of heart :) Dad and I were figuring out time zone stuff and we concurred that when I am in Zambia I will be in the same time zone as if I were in Italy. This helps me understand... a little... ;) Somehow I got lucky and on a full plane the girl sitting next me, Ashley, and I have an empty seat between us! It has been so nice! Lots more leg room and room to spread my stuff out! Ok, well that is all for now! I will keep you updated on S. Africa and Jo-Burg when we arrive!

I am having my british tea while I type this! We are all exhausted from the flight but so excited to get to orphanage and meet everyone!! In one short day we will be to The Haven!! Woohoo!!
