Yesterday and Today.. In Pictures!
Vera! Joello was missing today because he was at physical therapy so I took Vera and we did therapy together today. She is a little booger!

Owen! This is the cutie that I had in the morning on the veranda of Haven 1. He was so smiley and cute with his big brown eyes! Love him!

Here are the kiddos that we end up having in the afternoon when I am spending time with Aggie! I will go from left to right, Gilly, Boyd, Esther, Aggie, Evelyn, and you can't really see but that is Chabilo on the end :)

Me and Vera at Boondoos time! She was being a snot and trying to get my camera but she did tolerate a picture! Love her and her little attitude! I have videos of her jabbering up a storm. They are so cute!

Me and Aggie living the dream! We had a photo sesh today! Love her!

There are the babies that we end up having in the afternoon. From the left, Gilly, Esther, Chabilo, Aggie, Evelyn and Boyd. They are all the small children that are at Haven 3 and are the cutest cuties ever!

Joseph from Boondoos time yesterday! He is a ham! He pretends to not enjoy life but then you just catch him smiling and laughing. He is what the aunties call a "shupa" which is the equivalent to when a kid is being a troublemaker! Love him!

There I am with sleeping Boyd yesterday morning! I had him two days in a row and put him to sleep both times. Today I had Evelyn and put her to sleep too! There have been some really sucessful mornings ;)
And as a ground FINALE here is a picture of all of the babies in the afternoon! They were actually semi-complacent for this picture... which is saying something! The time I get to spend with these babies in the afternoon is by far my favorite part of the day and my favorite way to end it! I have gotten really good at picking them up one armed which is what the Aunties do at the Haven and it is super convenient. I will be using this trick and shitangee at later dates in America.
Love these babies they have stolen my heart and when I go home part of my heart is going to stay with them!
Precious! I love the many pictures that you always post - it brings joy to my heart to see all their toothy grins (or two teeth grin like Vera - so cute!!). I have also put 2 babies to sleep this week. They are both 2 of my cuddle buddies and love to snuggle :) One of them was actually awake when I got there - I tried to sing him awake, brush his cheek, rattle toys, and he did not attempt to wake up in the least. It was sweet, however, because a few times he would raise his eyebrows and give a half grin when I would sing, so I know he was aware! The other baby, though, had a respiratory rate that was through the roof when we walked in :( Respiratory distress is one thing keeping him in the NICU, so whereas many of the babies we like to hold out in front of us to create better interaction, he often has to be held sidelying in typical rocking fashion. BUT yesterday, that didn't even get his respiratory rate down, but as soon as I slid down in my chair and laid him against my chest he was out like a light :) His respiratory rate dropped immediately, and I ate it up. Sometimes when that happens, I feel like I'm not getting anything accomplished. But then I remind myself that sometimes these babies just need to be held, sung to, and rocked, and even that will play a part in stimulating their prelinguistic development - even if they doze off :) So sometimes sleeping and being cuddle buddies is a-ok and even necessary. Love your stories and again your pictures....and you! Thinking about you all daily!!
